New Hand Spindle
I have been salivating over the Golding Spindles for months now and surprise surprise I got one for Christmas. When I took this out of the box I nearly cried. Jeff is such a sweet heart.
Now I know why he was telling me not to spin up all the fiber I’d brought with me for our holiday in Arkansas.

Chinchilla? Yes, Chinchilla.
I purchased this fiber at the Santa Monica Fiber Fest. There I met a woman, who is enthusiastically promoting Chincilla Fiber. Apparently she is one of few who think Chinchilla a viable spinning fiber. So in order to get the ball rolling she is producing her own fiber and promoting it yourself.
Well it worked for me. The skein above was spun from a 4oz bag of fiber a Chincilla/Silk blend on my hand spindle and Andean plied. Its soft, oh so soft. I’m going to try to work it into a pair

Baby Surprise Here We Come
Now the non-knitting reader may think that I’ve just made some sort of announcement about future generations of the Murphy/Jackman family, but this is not the case. Elizabeth Zimmerman designed an amazing sweater named the “Baby Surprise.” Sorry Mom no more grandchildren just yet.

Romney Wool in Beautiful Colors
This stuff is destine for a baby sweater. Is it cruel to give a baby a wool sweater when the wool is soft and wonderful or is it that its cruel to the parent. Maybe I’ve save this one for my own babies. We’ll see.
