KNITTING
I have been knitting for 12 years and crocheting for about 20 years now.  That’s a scary thought, 20 years.  Never the less I started crocheting and knitting when it was very uncool to crochet or knit.  One of my fondest memories is when the amazing cute guy in college came to my dorm room and said, “You remind me of my grandmother.”

The Year of the Cardigan

I’ve decided that 2008 is the year of the cardigan. I hope to be knitting up several cardigans for myself. Am I being selfish? Ah, well. I’ve never knit a cardigan for myself and I’m feeling a significant lack of them. So I’ll be selecting some patterns and going for it.
Voting has closed
I will be choosing two to knit, but I can’t decide which two.

Progress on Surplice

Okay, so what is that thing called when you buy something that you didn’t plan on. You just suddenly (cough, cough) find yourself in the yarn store with a book and 6 skeins of yarn and a pounding heart. That was me when I bought the pattern and yarn for this project.

I’ve seen the pattern and admired it so many times in various magazine ads that I just… well I guess the ads finally worked. I ran to the store and bought the supplies before I even knew what I was doing.

Experimental Socks

These socks started out as 2 socks on 2 circulars. After most of the instep I started to notice that the skeins were not the same color. Actually not even close. I bought these skeins at SAFF out of a big bin of amazing prices. Now I know why. Well no skin off my nose. I decided to make 2 pairs of socks instead, well let’s call them anklets. So I put one sock on the needle holders and cast on a third sock with the other end of of the skein. Now I was running out of needles, so after being

Cupcakes are on there way

My friend Julia knows exactly what I like and she definitely knows how to feed my obsession. So follow her lead. The thing to get a knitter is exactly what you think he/she doesn’t need more of. YARN! PATTERNS! KNITTING GADGETS! Oh yeah!

This gift was absolutely needed too. I had a very trying day and then I came home to Cashmerino and inspiration. I started knitting right away and had the hat finished that very night.

Believe it or not, I did some monogamous knitting for this set.

They aren’t kidding!

I just love these socks. As soon as I cast off I put these on my feet and I don’t want to take them off. I have to admit that the rib is a pain in the butt, but it was worth it. I’m definitely going to make another pair.
